Armor / Ballistic E-Glass Fiberglass Panels
Fiber-Tech's Armor Ballistic Fiberglass Panels have been used in a wide variety of applications in military, residential, commercial and industrial markets. The panels are built with multiple layers of e-glass woven roving fiberglass fabrics, our fiberglass armor ballistic panels can meet a variety of threat level protection requirements. There are two primary threat level criteria typically specified in the United States.
- National Institute of Justice (NIJ)
- Underwriters Laboratory (UL)
Each agency has their own classifications and threat level testing criteria. Fiber-Tech’s solid e-glass armor ballistic panels are designed and manufactured to meet most of these threat level protection requirements up to and including: National Institute of Justice (NIJ) Level IIIA and UL 752 Level 3 protection.
Uses of Ballistic Panels and E-Glass Fiberglass Panels
Panels can be used in security walls, safe rooms, panic rooms, and as a blast resistant protection barrier in walls, ceilings and overhead cover systems. All panels are custom manufactured and cut to the customers specified dimensions. Don’t be limited to other manufacturer’s traditional 4 feet by 8’ feet when you can order custom sizes from Fiber-Tech.
Standard armor ballistic e-glass panels are available in sizes up to 10 feet wide by 58 feet long and up to 1/2" thick. For ease of shipping and handling, panels can be easily cut to the traditional building material size of 4 feet by 8 feet, stacked and palletized to your specific requirements. But if you need 5’ x 10’ or 8’ x 20’, no problem when you choose Fiber-Tech!
Fiber-Tech's Manufacturing of Armor & Ballistic Panels
Fiber-Tech’s armor ballistic panels are manufactured with Fiber-Tech’s unique manufacturing process which allows a variety of options and lamination schedules. Although most threat level ratings can be met with traditional e-glass fiberglass woven roving saturated in polyester thermoset resin, S-glass woven roving and/or vinyl ester resin systems can be utilized for additional specialty application requirements.
One of the benefits of Fiber-Tech’s e-glass armor ballistic panels is they are designed to absorb the impact and trap the shrapnel within the panel by delaminating the many plies of woven roving fiberglass. This minimizes ricocheting and spalling and maximizes safety!
